Tomorrow is the first day of the rest of my life

I report to the hospital at 7:30 am. Surgery is at 9:30. Ihave downed  my "juice" it has taken its toll and I am packed, guess I am as ready as I will ever be. Question???? How long exactly was this "clear liquid " diet. All the paperwork says 2-3 days. Is that only while in hospital? Will I be able to eat my taters on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday? I know I am strecthing here but I need (WANT) some taters. I have been on this low carb high protein diet too long. Anyways thanks for listening and thanks for any input!

Not exactly sure of your doc's plan, but mine was a week of clear liquids such as broth, sugar free pops and then week 2 was more of like creamy soups but no chunks....it was week three before I got to add things like the potatoes. You will survive for sure and it will all pass. Follow your doc's orders. Seems like they should have given you their plan already. You may not actually want those taters anyhow. Your pouch will be healing and you may not have any desires. I didn't, but I am sure everyone is different. Anyhow, good luck tomorrow and welcome to the loser's bench. Lisa

I did not get any liquids in the hospital until the day I was going home.  You will not be graving any taters after the surgery.  Listen to your doctor and take care of yourself. Good luck and welcome to the losers bench. Barbara

Good luck with the surgery and I have heard that skinny taste better than taters.

Thanks for all your well wishes. I am up (like 3 hours early) and ready to go. I am nervous but ready to do this and get on "the other side". Life up to this point has been one heck ofa rollercoaster and I am ready to start enjoying my kids and this beautiful place I live. Thanks for all your help and encouragment. I can't wait to get back and tell you how it went. Thanks again to all!!!!!
